Exports of French alcohol rose by 9%
Exports of French wine and other alcoholic beverages reached 9 billion francs in 2007. During the first ten months of 2007, exports grew by 9% in comparison with the results of 2006. Such data led Kasteya Philipp, head of Federation des Exportateurs des Vins et Spiritueux (FEVS).
However, the final results will be known no earlier than February 2008. According to the FEVS, exports are leaders skates and champagne, wine and quiet but also showed high results.
Last year, France exported an additional 9 million bottles of champagne, 12 million bottles of brandy and 67 million bottles of wine silent.
"This is the result of many years of work" - Kasteya said. Sales of cognac in monetary terms grew by 16.9%, 14.5% for champagne, with the largest consumers are the United States and Britain, followed by Germany, Belgium and Japan, writes Decanter.com.
China in the ranking moved from 15 positions and now is in the 10 spot on exports of French wines and spirits. All the same, as added Kasteya, the year 2008 may not be so easy. The reason - the strengthening of the euro, as well as global economic issues.
